Laurie Deelman, Director of First Impressions
Laurie worked as an assistant in her husband Paul’s chiropractic office (see below) and then followed him into the hearing industry. Her experience as a frontline worker in several fields means that she has great interpersonal skills, and she truly enjoys the ongoing relationships she develops with her customers and all the amazing life stories she gets to hear. As a former worker in the mental health field, she understands how closely linked physical and mental health can be, and sees first hand how hearing loss can lead to anxiety, depression and even dementia. Her goal is to offer the best assistance and education possible.
Outside the office Laurie enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside, being “Noma” to her two granddaughters, and a variety of crafts.
Paul Deelman, Hearing Instrument Practitioner
A Victoria native, Paul worked as a doctor of chiropractic medicine before having to give that up due to spinal problems. It was his former secretary who suggested that becoming a Hearing Instrument Practitioner would be a good fit for him, as he would still be helping people and changing their lives. Like so many other Beltone experts, he is very fulfilled by watching his customers’ lives change after they start using their hearing aids and are able to re-establish communication with their loved ones.
Paul’s favourite hobbies are fishing, gardening, cooking and movies.
